Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, citing informed sources, confirmed that Tehran’s position rejecting participation in a new round of negotiations with the United States remains unchanged. It stressed that any return to the negotiating table is conditional upon “guarantees and preconditions” that address the outstanding disputed issues.

Naval Blockade at the Forefront of Disputes

According to the agency, the issue of the naval blockade is one of the most significant obstacles hindering progress in the negotiations. This matter has been raised as a core point through mediators, including the Pakistani side, as part of efforts to revive the negotiation track.

“Excessive” U.S. Demands

The sources explained that exchanged messages between the two sides revealed demands that Tehran described as “excessive” from the U.S. side. This, according to the Iranian assessment, reflects the absence of any clear prospects for meaningful progress in upcoming talks.

Tehran: Talks Futile Under Current Conditions

The Iranian delegation, according to the report, indicated that engaging in new negotiations under the current circumstances would be a “waste of time,” unless Washington shows greater realism and retreats from what Iran described as “miscalculations.”

Refusal to Participate Without Removing Obstacles

The sources emphasized that Iran will not engage in any negotiation process unless the “fundamental obstacles” are removed and a foundation is established to ensure a mutually acceptable agreement. They characterized current proposals as nothing more than a “political charade” from the American side.

Prepared for All Scenarios

In a related context, the sources confirmed that Tehran is considering the possibility that the negotiation track may be used as a media cover. They added that the country is prepared to deal with various scenarios, including military escalation and responding to any potential U.S. actions.
