Uncontained Rage: Mukalla Erupts Once Again

NYN |News

Protests continue in areas controlled by the internationally recognized government, amid growing public anger over deteriorating living conditions and the deepening economic collapse.

On Friday evening, the city of Mukalla witnessed renewed angry demonstrations as public outrage mounted over worsening daily hardships and the rapid depreciation of the local currency. This has led to a sharp rise in the prices of food and fuel, while power outages persist and basic services remain absent.

Protesters gathered in several streets across the city, expressing their frustration over the worsening crises that have burdened the population, with no solutions in sight from local authorities or the internationally recognized government.

Demonstrators chanted slogans condemning the coalition, the Presidential Leadership Council, and the recognized government, accusing them of failing to fulfill their responsibilities. They warned that public patience is running out in the face of what they described as the “deliberate neglect” of the suffering of citizens in Hadhramaut.
