The American newspaper The Washington Post revealed, in a recent report, what it described as shocking details regarding the scale of damage caused by Iranian attacks on U.S. military bases in the Middle East, asserting that the actual losses far exceed what has been officially disclosed.

According to the report, an analysis of satellite imagery showed that the Iranian strikes targeted a much broader range of military objectives, resulting in the destruction of or damage to at least 228 military facilities and assets within those bases.

The analysis stated that the attacks hit sensitive infrastructure, including aircraft hangars, ammunition depots, radar systems, and runways, reflecting both precision in target selection and a direct impact on the operational capabilities of U.S. forces.

At the same time, the report noted that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly sought to minimize the scale of the losses while emphasizing the success of air defense systems in intercepting most of the attacks — a narrative that appears to contradict the evidence revealed by satellite imagery.

Observers believe these findings reflect a shift in the nature of the confrontation, with Iran demonstrating the ability to carry out concentrated strikes systematically targeting critical assets, potentially paving the way for broader military and political repercussions across the region in the coming period.
