Clashes Between Protesters and Security Forces in Hadhramaut… Situation on the Brink of Explosion (Video)

NYN | News

Hadhramaut Governorate witnessed an unprecedented escalation on Thursday, amid a wave of angry protests in the city of Tarim that spiraled into chaos after security and military forces intervened violently to disperse demonstrators.

Local sources reported that security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas directly at the protesters, causing panic and resulting in serious injuries to two civilians who were transported to Sayun Hospital for treatment. In response, protesters blocked roads and set tires on fire in the city center.

The demonstrations erupted amid chants such as “#No_Coalition_After_Today”, signaling growing public anger toward the Arab Coalition and its policies in areas under the control of the internationally recognized government.

Activists circulated video clips documenting moments of gunfire and the dispersal of protests, as warnings spread about the risk of further escalation—especially in light of mounting public frustration and the absence of any signs that authorities will respond to protesters’ demands.

These protests, ongoing for more than a week, are driven by deteriorating economic and public service conditions, and by accusations from demonstrators of widespread corruption within the Presidential Leadership Council government.
