Israel is facing an escalating military dilemma in the Red Sea and Yemen, as Israel’s Channel 12 reported in a detailed piece that repeated attacks have failed to halt the operations of Sana’a forces or diminish their economic and psychological impact.
According to the report, Israel has used warships to carry out long-range missile strikes on Yemeni territory on multiple occasions. However, the results have been limited.
Drones and ballistic missiles launched from Yemen continue to be fired almost weekly, and those that reach their targets are sufficient—according to the channel—to present the Houthis (Ansar Allah) as victors.
The report noted that Yemeni attacks have targeted strategic locations, such as Ramon Airport, without prior warning. These attacks have disrupted trade routes in the Red Sea and effectively shut down the Port of Eilat, which the channel described as having an impact that goes beyond physical damage, reaching economic, psychological, and even ideological levels.
The Hebrew channel concluded that Israel has found itself in an open-ended war of attrition, with no clear end in sight, and growing doubts as to whether any decisive option exists to alter the current reality.
