AFP: Yemeni Attack Causes Severe Damage to Najran Airport Radar, Impacting Operations

Agence France-Presse (AFP), quoting an informed regional source, reported that the attack targeting Najran Airport in southern Saudi Arabia on Tuesday resulted in severe damage to the airport’s main radar, directly impacting its operational activities.
Extensive Damage to Main Radar
According to the source cited by the agency, the attack damaged the airport’s main radar significantly, causing disruptions to operational activities inside the aviation facility. Saudi authorities have not issued an official comment regarding the extent or nature of the damage.
The agency confirmed that the impact on airport operations became apparent swiftly following the attack, amid ongoing military escalation between Sana’a and Riyadh.
Attack Comes Amid Escalating Operations in the Red Sea
AFP noted that the operation comes within the context of intensifying confrontation following the Sana’a government forces’ announcement of a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia and the intensified targeting of Saudi-linked oil tankers in the Red Sea as part of recently declared military operations.
Sana’a: Operation Transpired as Response to Saudi Air Violations
Earlier Tuesday, the military spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the execution of a drone attack targeting a “sensitive target” inside Najran Airport.
He explained that the operation came in response to what he described as ongoing Saudi drone violations of Yemeni airspace over the Saada and Hajjah governorates, stressing that military operations will continue as part of the response to those maneuvers.
