The leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, stated that the Israeli enemy’s assassination of the political leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, and the Lebanese Hezbollah military commander, Fouad Shukr, is a blatant violation of all norms and sanctities. He emphasized that this will not break the resistance or the will of the Palestinian people.
In a televised speech on Thursday evening, al-Houthi said that Israeli and American crimes would not weaken the resolve of the fighters but rather strengthen it. He asserted that the increase in Israeli crimes brings it closer to its demise, and with it, the fronts of jihad grow stronger.
Al-Houthi considered the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran, the aggression against the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the targeting of Shukr as clear acts of aggression and a dangerous escalation. He stressed that these crimes occurred within the context of a clear escalation following the return of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the United States.
In his speech, al-Houthi reiterated that the stance of the Jerusalem axis, jihad, and resistance is clear: there must be a military response to the Israeli escalation. He also noted that the crime of targeting Haniyeh exposed the hypocrisy of Europeans and some Arab countries, which did not even condemn the crime.
Clear Positions
Al-Houthi pointed out that there are clear and declared positions from the Islamic Republic and other countries in the resistance axis, and that efforts are underway for a response. He also mentioned that multiple Islamic and Arab countries, as well as other nations like Russia and China, have condemned the actions.
Al-Houthi expressed his condolences to Haniyeh’s family, Hamas, all Palestinian factions, and the Palestinian people, as well as to Shukr’s family, Hezbollah, and the Lebanese people. He affirmed that no matter the level of Israeli crimes and the extent of sacrifices, this would not break the morale or will of the fighters.
Al-Houthi accused the United States of being fully complicit with Israel in its crimes and deceiving the world. He criticized the U.S. for talking about the need to prevent the war from expanding while simultaneously supporting Israel in escalating its crimes and giving it free rein to act as it pleases.
He condemned the “negative and shameful” stance of some Arab regimes, which previously issued urgent statements condemning a minor injury to former U.S. President Donald Trump, which was alleged to be an assassination attempt, while failing to condemn the crime against one of the righteous leaders of the nation (referring to Haniyeh).
Al-Houthi also rejected and condemned the efforts of some European countries to contain the reactions of the resistance forces, urging them to respond symbolically. He stressed that the nation must be aware of these positions and not succumb to them, warning that weak reactions would only embolden the Israeli enemy.
He called on the Yemeni people to take to the streets on Friday and participate in activities in support of Palestinian prisoners on Saturday, in response to the call of martyr Ismail Haniyeh. Al-Houthi affirmed that jihad is the correct and wise choice in confronting the Israeli enemy.
