Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi vowed on Wednesday an “immediate and forceful” response to any US or Israeli threat targeting the Iranian people or its leadership, emphasizing that his country will not tolerate any escalation affecting its national security.
Reuters quoted Araghchi as saying in a post on the “X” platform that US President Donald Trump had previously pledged to curb Israel’s behavior, adding: “If this trained animal disobeys its master, Iran will teach it the necessary lesson.”
Iranian Affirmation on the Clarity of Understandings with Washington
The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad between Tehran and Washington are “crystal clear,” asserting that they are available to everyone and can be reviewed without any ambiguity.
Israeli Threats and Mutual Escalation
Araghchi’s remarks came in response to statements made by the Israeli Defense Minister, who said that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is “on the assassination list,” a statement that triggered furious reactions in Tehran.
Iran confirmed that any targeting of its leadership or interests will be met with a decisive response, amid ongoing regional tensions and an escalating war of words between the two sides in recent days.
