Israeli media outlets have reported that the military establishment in Israel has updated its operational plans in anticipation of a possible resumption of military operations against Yemen, amid expectations that hostilities on the Lebanese front could ease in the coming period.

The Hebrew Channel 14, citing the Middle East Monitor website, reported that the Israeli military is preparing new scenarios targeting Yemeni forces, following statements by the Israeli defense minister threatening to escalate operations against Yemen.

Updating Military Plans

According to the report, Israel’s security and military institutions are working to reactivate offensive plans and strengthen missile defense and interception systems in preparation for any decision by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to launch new military operations.

Yemen at the Top of Israeli Calculations

Israeli analysts indicated that Tel Aviv’s focus on the Yemeni front is linked to the possibility that it may be forced to de-escalate the confrontation with Lebanon, amid Iranian pressure on the United States, which they say has contributed to linking the Lebanese file to broader regional arrangements.

Internal Pressure on Netanyahu

Observers believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing increasing political and legal pressure, and that any halt in the series of wars conducted by Israel could deepen his internal crisis and threaten the survival of his government, amid ongoing corruption cases pending before Israeli courts.
