Sanaa Forces Target “Eilat” with Drone Swarm, Announce Readiness for Joint Military Operations with Arab and Islamic Countries

NYN | News

Today, Sunday, Sanaa government forces announced targeting “Eilat” with several drones and an Israeli ship in the Gulf of Aden with ballistic missiles and drones, affirming their readiness to conduct joint military operations with any Arab or Islamic entity against “Israel.”

In a statement, the spokesperson for the Sanaa forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said: “The Yemeni armed forces’ naval units, drone force, and missile units carried out a joint operation targeting the Israeli ship (MSC UNIFIC) in the Gulf of Aden with multiple ballistic missiles and drones.”

He added: “The drone force also targeted several Israeli military objectives in the Um Rashrash area in southern occupied Palestine with drones,” confirming that the operation successfully achieved its objectives.

Saree noted that these operations come “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in response to the Al-Mawasi massacre in Khan Younis committed by the Israeli enemy.”

The statement continued: “The Yemeni armed forces renew their call to all Arab and Islamic armies to fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty towards the Palestinian people and affirm their complete readiness to conduct joint military operations with any Arab or Islamic entity in support of the oppressed Palestinian people.”

The statement reiterated that “the operations of the Yemeni armed forces will not stop unless the aggression is halted and the blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.”

Since late last year, Sanaa government forces have begun striking Israeli targets in the occupied Palestinian territories and targeting Israeli and related ships in the Red and Arabian Seas, before announcing an extension of their operations to parts of the Indian Ocean. Recently, they announced the beginning of the fourth phase of escalation against ships “up to the Mediterranean Sea” to support Palestinians in Gaza. They affirm that their operations against “Israel” will continue, conditioning the cessation of their military operations “in support of Gaza” on ending the aggression and lifting the blockade on Gaza.

In response, the US and Britain have launched airstrikes on Yemen, prompting Sanaa government forces to declare that their operations will include targeting American and British commercial and military ships in retaliation for what they call “American-British aggression.”

On February 19, 2024, the European Union announced the launch of a military operation named “Aspides,” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States announced the launch of an operation named “Prosperity Guardian,” both aiming to counter the attacks carried out by Sanaa government forces against “Israel.”
