Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Sanaa government forces, announced that the forces will begin implementing “the fourth stage of escalation” “to support the Palestinians in Gaza.”
Saree said in a statement broadcast during a large “Support for Gaza” march held in Seventy Square this afternoon in the capital Sanaa today, Friday: “The Yemeni armed forces are monitoring the developments of the battle in the Gaza Strip due to the continuation of the Israeli and American aggression and the preparation for an aggressive military operation targeting the Rafah area, as well as we are following the proposal presented to the resistance, in which the enemy seeks to seize the prisoners’ card without a permanent cessation of fire.”
The statement added: “In implementation of the directives of the leader Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in support of the Palestinian people’s injustice and in response to the calls of the resistance to the oppressed Palestinian people and with the stubbornness of the Israeli and American enemy, the Yemeni armed forces announce the start of implementing the fourth stage of escalation as follows: targeting all ships violating the Israeli navigation ban and heading to the ports of occupied Palestine in the Mediterranean Sea in any area within our reach.”
The statement added: “Secondly, this will start from the time of announcing this statement, thirdly, in case the Israeli enemy turns to launch an aggressive military operation on Rafah, the Yemeni armed forces will impose comprehensive sanctions on all ships of companies related to supply and entry to the occupied Palestinian ports of any nationality and prevent all ships of these companies from passing through the area of the armed forces operations regardless of their destination.”
The statement concluded: “The Yemeni armed forces, with the help of Allah Almighty and based on the support of the great Yemeni people and all the free people of the nation, will not hesitate to prepare and prepare for broader and stronger escalation stages until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted on the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
Since November last year, Sanaa government forces have been carrying out military operations against “Israel” and preventing Israeli ships or those associated with it from crossing the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, stipulating that their operations be halted by “stopping the aggression on Gaza and lifting the siege” as stated in the military statements broadcast by the spokesman for the Sanaa government forces Yahya Saree after the implementation of any military operation.
In contrast, the European Union announced on February 19, 2024, the launch of a military operation named “Aspis” led by Italy in the Red Sea, while the United States announced the launch of an operation named “Guardian of Prosperity,” aimed at countering the attacks launched by Sanaa government forces against “Israel,” in addition to airstrikes carried out by America and Britain in Yemen, which prompted Sanaa government forces to include American and British ships, whether commercial or military, in the targeting circle and prevent them from crossing the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
