Israeli economic analysts have acknowledged that the Israeli economy is facing unprecedented challenges that could threaten its ability to endure if the recent rounds of military escalation with Iran are repeated. They stressed that the economic and security repercussions of these confrontations have become more costly and complex than ever before.

In this context, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv warned that the continuation of intermittent military confrontations with Iran could push the Israeli economy into a critical phase. The paper noted that Israeli society and the military establishment would face increasing difficulty in bearing the burden of such a reality if it were to become a permanent condition.

Maariv argued that the end of Trump’s term in the coming years could open the door to even greater challenges for Israel, suggesting that objectives the Israeli establishment is unable to achieve today will become even more difficult to attain in the future.

The newspaper also noted that these developments coincide with ongoing military operations on multiple fronts, including drone and missile attacks from Lebanon, alongside the growing capabilities of Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip.

Concern Over a Potential Agreement with Iran

The Hebrew daily further stated that the U.S. administration appears closer than ever to reaching an understanding or agreement with Iran. It argued that any agreement that does not clearly weaken Tehran would be viewed within Israeli circles as a major strategic gain for Iran, thereby increasing concerns about the future balance of power in the region and Israel’s position within it.

This assessment reflects growing anxiety within Israeli political and economic circles regarding the consequences of continued and expanding regional confrontations, amid rising economic
